Background
I have worked within the education system for almost 30 years, seventeen of those as a Headteacher and nineteen of those as a Designated Safeguarding Lead. During this time, I also pursued my interest to support others and so trained to become an executive coach. Throughout my time in Headship, I particularly enjoyed working with the many different stakeholders, collaborating to make things better for all children, not just those in my care. It was this multi-agency work, combined with the drive to help others, that led me to take my first steps into the world of consultancy.
Early Days of Consultancy
I began by using my experience to support other Headteachers to develop whole school cultural transformations. Creating environments where Safeguarding is understood, owned and lived by all, became a significant part of my work. This was further strengthened and consolidated through my time supporting the Department for Education as the first National Safeguarding Facilitator for Education. I supported the implementation of Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, helping strengthen multi-agency collaboration and championing the role of education within safeguarding systems.
Now
Fast forward a few years and Le Fevre Safeguarding and Leadership Solutions, has evolved. Through my consultancy, I now work with schools, trusts, and partnerships to provide strategic safeguarding reviews, leadership coaching, and professional development. My approach combines rigorous evaluation with practical, grounded support—helping leaders develop clarity, confidence, and sustainable systems that stand up to scrutiny and make a real difference. I am also the creator of the Strategic Safeguarding Quality Mark Framework, designed to help organisations evaluate and strengthen their safeguarding provision beyond what is expected or inspected. This reflects my core belief that safeguarding should not only protect children, but enable them to feel that they truly matter and can thrive.
